Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Horace Vernet' after own design. Horace Vernet (1789-1863) was like his father Carle very active in the early years of lithography. He made many fine prints in this technique

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Qui dort dine.' - No supper for those who sleep. A soldier has inadvertantly fallen asleep while cooking. Two other soldiers steal the meat he was cooking by running a sabre through it to lift it over a low wall.

Condition: Very good, given age. Large margins, faintly soiled. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
