Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jean Baptiste Le Prince' after own design. Jean Baptist Le Prince (1734-1781) came from Metz and studied with Boucher in Paris. He stayed in St. Petersburg between 1758 and 1763. After returning to France he etched many Russian scenes. Le Prince is also considered to be the inventor of the aquatint.

Condition: Good, given age. No margins, text cut off (as often). Remains of paper and tape on rear from previous attachment. Small tear in left middle paper edge. Thin paper spots at left paper edge.
