Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jean Baptist Le Prince ' after 'Jean Baptiste Le Prince'. Jean Baptist Le Prince (1734-1781) came from Metz and studied with Boucher in Paris. He stayed in St. Petersburg between 1758 and 1763. After returning to France he etched many Russian scenes. Le Prince is also considered to be the inventor of the aquatint.

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Femmes du Peuple' - Two women in Russian (?) costume, with a child. The woman that holds the child's hand wears a turban, the other woman wears a veil.

Condition: Very good, given age. Latrge margins. A stain in the lower right margin corner. A small tear in the left margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
