Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Ludwig Emil Grimm' after own design. Ludwig Emil Grimm (1790-1863) was a German painter of historic subjects and engraver / etcher of landscapes, history and genre scenes from Steinau. He also made many good portraits. He is the brother of the philologists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. He was a student of Karl Hess at the Academy in Munich. He became a Professor at the Cassel Academy. He is considered one of the modern artists in early 19th. century Germany.
