Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Samuel Howitt' after own design. Samuel Howitt (1756-1822) was an English painter, illustrator and etcher of animals, hunting and horse-racing scenes who worked in both oil and watercolour. He was the brother in law of the famous caricaturist Thomas Rowlandson.
