Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Giovanni Volpato' after 'Francesco Maggiotto'. Giovanni Volpato (Bassano del Grappa 1735 - 1803 Rome) was an Italian engraver, excavator and antiques dealer. He went to Venice in 1762 and worked with Joseph Wagner and Bartolozzi. He gained more fame and moved to Rome in 1771 where he produced a series of engravings after the Raphael Rooms and Loggias in the Vatican. Francesco Maggiotto (1750-1805 Italian).
