Description: Very nice early impression. Ref: Hollstein 479 Provenance: Bibliotheque Nationale (Lugt 409 and de-accession stamp 1978 Lugt 819a) Garden.

Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Hans Vredeman de Vries'. Hans Vredeman de Vries (1527 - c. 1607) was a Dutch Renaissance architect, painter, and engineer. Vredeman de Vries is known for his publication in 1583 on garden design and his books with many examples on ornaments (1565) and perspective (1604).

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Ionica' - Design for a garden.

Condition: Very good, given age. Ample margins, some staining in left margins, not affecting the image. Stamp with crown and B.R. in lower part of print. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
