Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Charles Motte' after 'Francisque-Martin-Francois Grenier de St. Martin'. Charles Motte (French; 1785-1836) was one of the early lithographers in Paris, where he started in 1817. He published a vast amount of lithographs, including early work by Eugene Delacroix. Francisque-Martin-Francois Grenier de St. Martin (1793-1867) worked in Paris.
Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Retraite de Leipzig.' - Retreat from the battle of Leipzig in 1813. Napoleon is seen in conference with other military commanders.
Condition: Very good, given age. Large margins, some tears (closed with acid-free archival tape). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
