Description: Source unknown, to be determined. Ref: Hollstein 240-287. Provenance: Kupferstichkabinet Berlin duplicate (Lugt 1606 & 2398).

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jan Theodor de Bry' after 'Karel van Mander'. Jan Theodor de Bry (1561-1623) originated from Liege. He worked in Frankfurt. Karel van Mander (1548-1606) was active as painter, poet and designer. He orginated from Flanders, but moved to the Northern Netherlands around 1583.

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: ''Arvum lingua malum quo non lethalius ullum.'' - ("The land is not polluted by any bad language") Men grinding tongues to combat lies.

Condition: Good, given age. No margins, small tear in bottom left paper edge. Top corners with slight paper loss, backed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
