Description: From the series "Ian-Hagels Compagne." with 31 of these small figures. State: Second states of 2. Ref: Hollstein 26, 31, 35.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Gillis van Scheyndel' after an anonymous artist. Gillis / Aegidius / Georg van Scheyndel / Scheijndel / Scheindel / Schendel (c. 1595-c. 1662) was a Dutch Golden Age etcher and designer. He worked in Amsterdam. His work is close akin to the prints of Jacques Callot and Jan van de Velde II.

Subject: 3 Antique master prints, titled: '5. Wat sonders, wat soegers. - 14. Mevrouw van Henneberg. - 10. Trijn Grabbel teers.' - Three vagrant people. One is a woman with a woven basket on her head. The second is a woman carrying a basket, crossing a bridge with her three children. The final is a man leaning on a stick.

Condition: Very good, given age. Ample margins. The woman with a basket has a faint stain in the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
