Description: This album was most probably compiled for Armand Heins with proofs from his father's workshop, preparatory drawings for prints and self portraits. The studio of Armand was destroyed in 1918, which would account for the damaged state of some of the prints. Provenance: Probably the estate of Armand Jean Heins.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Nicolas & Armand Heins' after own design. Jean Nicolas Heins (1823-1908) worked in Gent as a lithographic printer. His son Armand Jean Heins (1856-1938) was a wellknown artist from Gent, who made many illustrations of the city and its surroundings

Subject: 29 Antique prints, titled: 'Quelques Gravures sur pierre "lithograpies"par Nicolas Heins et par son fils A.d Heins dans sa jeunesse, Gand, dec.bre, 1926.' - A collection of lithographs, etchings and drawings made by Nicolas Heins and his son Armand Heins from Gent. This includes figures and portraits and architectural views.

Condition: Fair, given age. The prints show signs of wear and soiling. The drawings are in good condition General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
