Description: This album was most probably compiled for Armand Heins with proofs from his father's workshop, preparatory drawings for prints and self portraits. The studio of Armand was destroyed in 1918, which would account for the damaged state of some of the prints. Provenance: Probably the estate of Armand Jean Heins.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Nicolas & Armand Heins' after own design. Jean Nicolas Heins (1823-1908) worked in Gent as a lithographic printer. His son Armand Jean Heins (1856-1938) was a wellknown artist from Gent, who made many illustrations of the city and its surroundings
