Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jurriaan Cootwijk' after 'Pieter Piera / Jan Asselyn'. Jurriaan Cootwijk / Cootwyck (1714-1798) was a Dutch engraver, active in Amsterdam. He worked for Ploos van Amstel and Christiaan Josi. Jan Asselijn (1610-1652) was a Dutch painter and draughtsman of the Dutch School. He went to Rome and became a Bentveughel, under the moniker Crabbetje (little crab) as his fingers were so crooked he could hardly hold a palette.
