Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Paulus Pontius' after 'Gerard Terborch'. Paulus Pontius / Paul Ponce / du Pont (1603-1658) was a Flemish engraver from Antwerp and a pupil of Osias Beet and L. Vorsterman. He worked for Rubens from 1624-1631. He is considered one of the finest Flemish engravers. Gerard ter Borch (also Terborch, 1617-1681) was a Dutch painter. He was a genre painter, also known for his portraits.
