Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Friedrich John' after 'Joseph Dorffmeister'. Friedrich John (1769-1843) was a German stipple engraver from Marienbourg. He was active in Varsovie, Poland, England and later worked in Vienna. Joseph Dorffmeister (1764-c.1814) was a Hungarian painter and engraver from Oedenburg. He studied at the Vienna Academy and worked in Vienna, Genoa and Livorno.
