Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Abraham Bosse' after an anonymous artist. Abraham Bosse (French; 1604-1676) worked in Paris and made prints in the manner of Callot. He wrote a very famous treatice about etching and engraving. His prints document French life in the early and mid-17th. Century.
Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'A la posterite.' - Bust of the engraver Jacques Callot in a decorative border with several cherubs, putti, a skull and architectural elements.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped to the image edge. A tiny chip off the left margin (backed with contemporary paper). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
