Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Edward Fisher' after 'Cornelis Troost'. Edward Fisher (1722-1781/82) originated from Ireland. He worked as aprofessional mezzotinter in London. Cornelis Troost (1696-1750) was active in Amsterdam. He is seen as one of the most important dutch artist of the first half of the 18th century.
Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Marriage consultation.' - Rare antique print. Two fathers discussing the marriage of their children. One of the mothers and the son are also present. The girl peeks through a crack in the doorway in the background.
Condition: Good, given age. Small margins. A few small stains in the lower margin. A crease from the right to the top margin (crossing the image). Some soiling and small imperfections in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
