Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Nicolas Cochin I' after 'Jan van de Velde'. Nicolas Cochin (1610-1686) was active as a etcher and publisher in Paris. He produced a great number of landscape prints. Many of these prints were inspired by the Northern landscape prints. Jan van de Velde (1593-1641) came from the southern Netherlands as a fugitive around 1600 to the Netherlands. His father was a writingmaster and Jan trainend as an etcher. He produced many highly important series of landscape prints.

Condition: Good, given age. No margins. Trimmed close to image. Light staining. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
