Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Simon Frisius' after 'Jan van de Velde I'. Simon Frisius (1580-1629) was active as engraver and etcher. He has a very distintive style. Frisius can be seen as a transitional figure between Mannerism and later styles. Jan van de Velde the Elder (1568-1623), was a Dutch calligrapher, writing teacher, and engraver. He was the father of the engraver Jan van de Velde.

Condition: Very good, given age. Cut to the plateline, with a vertical cut lower left corner (closed with acid-free archival tape). A stain in the lower edge. A horizontal foldline in the lower half of the sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
