Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Mathias de Sallieth' after 'Izaak Schmidt'. Mathias de Sallieth (1749 - 1791): Czech etcher/engraver of etchings, stipple engravings and aquatint. Publisher and artist. Born in Prague, died in Rotterdam. He worked in Vienna, Paris, Schoonderloo and Rotterdam. He was a student of J.E. Mansfeld in Vienna. Izaak Schmidt (1740-1818) was active in Amsterdam as painter and etcher of landscapes and portraits. He was a student of his father, Jan van Huysum and J.M. Quinkhart. He worked for a tapistry factory and was also an author of drama and art. His work is scarse.
