Artists and Engravers: Made by M. Sallieth after W. Van de Velde. Willem van de Velde (1633-1707) was, like his father, a Dutch painter of marines. His brother, Adriaen, specialised in landscapes. Mathias de Sallieth (1749 - 1791): Czech etcher/engraver of etchings, stipple engravings and aquatint. Publisher and artist. Born in Prague, died in Rotterdam. He worked in Vienna, Paris, Schoonderloo and Rotterdam. He was a student of J.E. Mansfeld in Vienna and Jacques Philippe Le Bas in Paris. He worked for F. Samsom.

Condition: Very good, given age. Margins a little thumbed, a small stain in the middle of the image. Margins cropped (uneven). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
