Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jean-Louis-Hippolyte Bellange' after own design. Joseph-Louis-Hippolyte Bellange (1800-1866) worked as a pupil together with Charlet. He developed the same interest in Napoleonic subject matter. Like charlet he produced a great number of lithographs.
Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Spectacle gratis.' - ('Free spectacle'). A tumultous scene in a theatre, where a fight broke out in the audience.
Condition: Very good, given age. Large margins, a small stain in the lower right margin corner. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
