Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Joannes Sadeler' after 'Jacopo Bassano'. Johannes Sadeler I (1550-ca. 1600) was a member of the engravers family Sadeler. The Sadeler family were the largest, and probably the most successful of the dynasties of Flemish engravers that were dominant in Northern European printmaking. Jacopo Bassano (ca. 1510-1592) originated from Venice. He worked in the manner of Titian. His landscapes with biblical themes were very popular in the 17th. Century.
