Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Francesco Bartolozzi' after 'Hans Holbein'. Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) was an Italian engraver from Florence. He gained fame with his stipple engravings. He moved to London in 1764, where he was a founding member of the Royal Academy. Hans Holbein the Younger (ca. 1497-1543) was a reknown German artist. Hed was active as court artist at the English court. He made many portraits, but also designed jewelry and book illustrations.
