Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Wendel Dietterlin the Elder' after own design. Wendel Dietterlin / Dieterlin the Elder, also called Wendel or Wendling-Grapp (1550-1599) was an Austrian painter, architect and etcher from Pallendorf. He was active in Strasburg and Stuttgart.
Subject: Antique Master Print, untitled. Architectural frame with three coats of arms. The lower two shields are sided by unicorns, and a unicorn is featured on the lower right shield. The crowned eagle from the upper shield is repeated above it.
Condition: Very good, given age. Large margins. A wormhole in the lower right margin corner. Marign edges a little soiled and with small stains. A small stain in the lower edge of the image. Left margin a little uneven, from binding (with a small strip of reinforcement on the rear). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
