Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Joseph August Bissinger' after own design. Joseph August Bissinger (1814-1851) started as a merchant and later devoted his time to painting. He was a pupil of Carl Friedrich Lessing and also of Baren Cornelis Koekkoek. He died young with a small oeuvre.
