Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Marie Catherine Prestel' after 'Allart van Everdingen'. Marie Catherine Prestel (1747-1794) worked together with her husband Johann Gottlieb Prestel (1742-1808). They created a fine oeuvre of prints after drawings, for which they were reknowned. Allart van Everdingen (1621-1675) was active as a painter in Amsterdam. He traveled to Norway to make paintings of the landscape for the Trip family, who had gun foundries there. After this trip, most of his landscapes have a Norwegian theme.
