Description: From the famous set of small huntingscenes. State: Only state. Ref: Bartsch 1094.

Artists and Engravers: Made by Antonio Tempesta after own design. Antonio Tempesta (ca. 1555-1630) was a Rome born artist, who specialised in etchings. His prints with hunting scenes, biblical matter etc. attracted great popularity in the early 17th. Century and were copied widely.

Subject: Antique print, titled: 'Esca Niliacus capitur Crocodilus & hamo…', Crocodile hunting. Crocodiles are lured out of the Nile by boar tied to a peg in the ground. When the crocodiles are busy devouring their prey, the men step in to kill them.

Condition: Good, no margins. Some browning and remnants of old hinges verso General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
