Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Hendrik Kobell & Dirk Langendijk' after own design. Hendrik Kobell & Dirk Langendijk were both active in Rotterdam in the second half of the 18th. Century. They are seen as two of the really good artists of their time. Hendrik Kobell (Dutch; 1751-1779) was a painter, designer and engraver of marine scenes. Dirk Langendijk (1748-1805) specialised in military scenes. He was famous for his watercolours of battlefields.
