Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jan Gillisz. Van Vliet' after own design. Jan Gillisz. van Vliet (ca. 1606- 1669) was a pupil of Rembrandt in Leiden. He collaborated in the finishing of some of the prints by Rembrandt in his Leiden years. Van Vliet made a fine series of trades in print after his own design. He worked very much in the manner of Rembrandt. Later he stopped as a graphic artist and went into the bussiness of wine selling.
