Description: From a set of cherubs after designs by Farinati. A second edition of this set was published by Jombert in Paris in 1736. Ref: Blum 383 Cherub.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Abraham Bosse' after 'Paolo Farinati'. Abraham Bosse (1604-1676) worked in Paris and made prints in the manner of Callot. He wrote a very famous treatice about etching and engraving. His prints document French life in the early and mid-17th. Century. Paolo Farinati (ca. 1524-ca. 1606) was active in Verona. He workedin the Mannerist manner.
