Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Dominique Vivant Denon' after an anonymous artist. Dominique Vivant, Baron de Denon (1747-1825) was a French artist, diplomat and archeologist. He perfected his etching and mezzotint engraving while posted in Naples as diplomat until 1787. Vivant Denon was also one of the early lithographers in France.
Subject: 2 Antique master prints, titled: 'Andrea Montegna.' - Portraits of Andrea Montegna, an Italian painter. In two states: a proof before the lettering and the second state, with lettering.
Condition: Very good, given age. Margins of both cropped close to the platemark. Both prints attached to the same carrier sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
